Dato’ Ikmal was appointed to the Board of Directors of Faber Group Berhad (“FGB”) and as Chairman of FGB on 1 March 2009. He is also the Chairman of the Investment Committee of FGB. 

Dato’ Ikmal holds a Master of Philosophy Degree in Land Management from University of Reading, U.K., and had served in the Administrative and Diplomatic Service of the Government from 1976 until 1991, in various positions and responsibilities such as District Office, Regional Development Authority, Training Management and Administrative under Ministries Unit.

Dato’ Ikmal was the Chief Executive Officer of Iskandar Regional Development Authority (“IRDA”), Malaysia from 23 February 2007 until his appointment as Chairman of FGB, on 1 March 2009. Dato’ Ikmal began his career by serving in the Administrative and Diplomatic Service of the Government from 1976 to 1990. He then joined United Engineers (M) Berhad as the General Manager of the Malaysian-Singapore Second Crossing Project.

Dato’ Ikmal became the Chief Operating Officer of Projek Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan Berhad (‘PLUS”) on 1 January 1993 and was subsequently appointed as its Managing Director from 1 January 1995 to 30 June 1999. He resigned as Managing Director of PLUS in 1999 but remained as a Director until November 2001. Dato’ Ikmal was appointed as the Managing Director of Prolink Development Sdn Bhd (‘Prolink”) and Acting Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Property Division of Renong Group in July 1999.

In February 2000, he was appointed as the President of the Property Division of the Renong Group while maintaining his position as the Managing Director of Prolink. He held the position of Managing Director at Renong Berhad from 2002 until October 2003 when he subsequently joined Pos Malaysia Berhad (“PMB”) and was appointed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of PMB on 6 December 2003. on 19 December 2003, Dato’ Ikmal was appointed Executive Director of Pos Malaysia & Services Holdings Berhad (“PMSHB”) and on 13 april 2004, he was re-designated as the PMSHB’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer. His directorship in other public companies includes UEM Land Holdings Berhad.

Dato’ Ikmal does not have any family relationship with any Director and/or major shareholder of FGB. He does not have any conflict of interest with FGB. He has had no convictions for any offence within the past 10 years other than traffic offences, if any.
